Around 11 per cent of people in the UK usually walk to work. What are the benefits of walking to work? Better physical fitness. Fewer health issues. More time to yourself. Increased mental wellbeing. Time to organise your mind. Save money.
Much like Walk to School Week, Walk to Work Day aims to get people up and active by taking extra time out of the day to walk, while taking time to think about their car use.
The very talked-about concept, 'walk-to-work' is gaining momentum as builders and architects lean forward to develop housing, commercial premises, institutions, healthcare facilities, entertainment zone, shopping centres in the vicinity of each other.
