Recognizing the importance of geoscience in solving the major challenges facing humanity today, UNESCO's General Conference proclaimed October 6 as International Geodiversity Day.
Despite the multitude of services provided by geodiversity, few people know how much we depend on it. It is therefore necessary to promote a better understanding of the Earth's dynamic processes so that citizens can make informed policy decisions that foster a more sustainable society.
