As every year since 2004 in Mexico, the National Librarian's Day is celebrated on July 20, a day to pay tribute to the professionals whose work facilitates access to knowledge and information and collaborates in the preservation of written culture. According to the Código San Luis website, the celebration was proposed by the Library and Editorial Affairs Commission of the Senate.
The Ministry of Culture, through the General Directorate of Libraries (DGB), celebrates the National Librarian's Day with a series of online activities.
