El Salvador celebrates today the "Day of the Salvadoran Artisan" (Día del artesano), a date that was declared by the Legislative Assembly.
The objective of giving a day to the artisans and artisans, is to make visible these people who are dedicated to the elaboration of the artisan product, contributing greatly to the economic, cultural, social and tourist development of the country.
Previously it was celebrated on the same date, the "National Crafts Day", however, the Assembly considered it pertinent to modify the Legislative Decree of 1981, to give life to the new nomination, so that the artisans and craftsmen enjoy the recognition of society, as representatives of a broad sector of the economic fabric.
