Foreign Service Day - a holiday of Polish foreign service, celebrated annually on November 16, on the anniversary of Józef Piłsudski sending the first foreign message to the leaders of countries of the world, informing about the creation of an independent Polish state, established by the decision of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski in 2009 as recognition of the achievements of the last twenty years and the role of diplomacy in building Poland's position in the international arena.
As part of the celebration of the holiday in 2009 and 2010, events were organized open to the public. In 2010, as part of the celebrations, ceremonies of awarding state orders and badges of honor to persons of merit for the foreign service were also held.
On the Foreign Service Day, awards are also given to them. Andrzej Kremer - "Consul of the Year".
