Community Police Officer Day in Ukraine

The presentation of the project "Policeman Officer of the community" was held on May 28, 2019 in Kiev on Sofievskaya Square with the participation of the Prime Minister of Ukraine, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the Chairman of the National Police of Ukraine. The event was attended by representatives of the state's United Territorial Communities and representatives of Local Self-Government Development Centers who joined the project.

The territorial police officer in the community is the next step in the reform of the National Police. Its main goal is to provide each territorial community with an individual officer who will not only work within that community, but also live there.

Since the police officer will become a full representative of his community (which will assume a part of the financial support for his work), he will be accountable not only to the leadership, but also to the community itself.

The community police officer's main task is to be responsive to the needs of the community, to maintain constant contact with residents, to ensure daily order in their territory, to respond to community problems in a timely manner, and to prevent the commission of offenses.
