Today Ukraine celebrates the Day of District Police Officer. This day became a professional holiday in 2004 according to the order of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
It is the district police officers who are entrusted with a difficult and at the same time responsible mission - to ensure law and order in the entrusted settlements of the community. Therefore, the service of a district police officer requires extraordinary professionalism and dedication, the ability to understand difficult life situations, social conflicts and resolve them.
The profession of a district officer is considered one of the most responsible and difficult, because the duties of district officers are very diverse. They include protection of rights and legitimate interests of citizens from illegal encroachments, protection of public order, preventive work with the population.
