Internationalist Day in Venezuela

The origin of this celebration can be found in 1958 when the College of Internationalists of Venezuela (CODEIV) was created, an academic and trade organization established with the purpose of developing international studies in the country. Since then, this date was selected as the Internationalist's Day (Día del Internacionalista), in order to commemorate the creation of this organization and to honor these professionals.

Internationalists or graduates in International Studies are professionals who focus on the analysis of global processes and phenomena, from an interdisciplinary perspective that encompasses different fields of study such as law, economics, politics, among others. The area of intervention of this professional is linked to different areas such as: the private and public sector, non-governmental or international organizations, or where activities related to consulting in inter-state relations, foreign trade, international cooperation, project evaluation, coordination of interdisciplinary teams, political analysis of international affairs, research formulation, teaching and diplomatic services are carried out.

At present, this profession can be considered one of the most important, since it can be used to understand the processes and dynamics of certain global phenomena, as well as to establish good relations between States, promoting peace, cooperation, dispute resolution and the unification of common objectives.
