This September 21, not only Student's Day and the beginning of spring are celebrated. In Argentina, every year the Day of the Economist is celebrated with the aim of recognizing and thanking the daily work carried out by professionals in the field, who watch over the economic security of their clients and the improvement of the living conditions of the population and society in general.
In detail, the degree in Economics deals with studies on economic policy, theory and economic decisions, as well as the production, distribution, allocation and transfer of resources. Those who choose this path dedicate themselves to the analysis of various economic phenomena in order to understand their causes and consequences.
The origin of the date arose in commemoration of the recognition of the first Argentine economist, Manuel Belgrano, a hero who was appointed on September 21, 1794 as the first Secretary of the Royal Consulate of Buenos Aires. He held this position until shortly before the May Revolution of 1810.
