Anthropology has been characterized as the discipline in charge of observing, describing, interpreting, understanding, explaining and translating, but always scientifically, "the others". In the beginning it was a curiosity to discover the unknown, but also to get to know human creatures apparently foreign to "us".
As a discipline of the social and human sciences, the origins of anthropology date back to the second half of the 19th century. It has its links with the theory of evolution, as studies of human evolution began in various fields of society. Anthropology conducts various studies on the biological evolution of the human species, its development, forms of life throughout history, material culture and the diversity of cultures that characterize humanity.
On July 26 they celebrate the graduation of Argentina's first anthropologist in 1961. In Argentina, Anthropologist's Day is celebrated every July 27 to "give hierarchy to the profession and social discipline that studies the human species in an integral way". The date was stipulated because, on July 27, but in 1972, the College of Anthropology Graduates was founded.
