On July 27, the day of the announcer is celebrated in tribute to the professionals who, with their voice, through a microphone and amplification equipment, transmit through radioelectric or electronic systems, from radio and television stations, the messages, contents , advertisements and audio effects to inform, guide, entertain or amuse Guatemalan listeners or viewers.
The Chamber of Professional Broadcasters of Guatemala -CLPG- was founded on July 27, 1984.
The National Announcer's Day was declared by the Congress of the Republic of Guatemala according to Decree 0080-1978 of December 7, 1978, which establishes that the radioelectric spectrum workers will enjoy a holiday or, failing that, the extraordinary payment of their salary.
