The Home Depot was co-founded by Bernard Marcus, Arthur Blank, Ron Brill, and Pat Farrah in 1978. The Home Depot's proposition was to build home-improvement superstores, larger than any of their competitors' facilities. Investment banker Ken Langone helped Marcus and Blank to secure the necessary capital. Home Depot has always gone for a warehouse look for their stores. To achieve this, they choose to open their stores in massive buildings that have plenty of floor space and height to stack their thousands of products.
Today the Home Depot, Inc., commonly known as Home Depot, is the largest home improvement retailer in the United States, supplying tools, construction products, appliances, and services. The company is headquartered in incorporated Cobb County, Georgia, with an Atlanta mailing address. Number of employees: 500,000+ (2021).
At some point in their lives, most citizens of the United States will shop in a Home Depot store on at least one occasion and the same applies to citizens of Mexico and Canada.
