Today is a day dedicated to showing young readers that books can be as enjoyable as television or other forms of entertainment. This day is especially focused on humorous books such as joke books, comedy books or puzzle books.
There are lots of ways to celebrate this holiday and get your kids involved. You can find quizzes online and you and your child can see who the best at puzzles is. You can also go to your local library to find some books to help you laugh. Another idea is to spend the day creating your own funny stories and writing them down. The main purpose of the day is to introduce children to the joy of reading and perhaps even encourage them to read every day of the year.
