World Amateur Radio Day
World Amateur Radio Day is held on April 18. Every April 18, radio amateurs worldwide take to the airwaves in celebration of World Amateur Radio Day. It was on that day in 1925 that the International Amateur Radio Union was formed in Paris. This event in the second decade of the month April is annual.

You can talk to radio amateurs in any country in the world without wire connection, wireless from you to them. ARISS stands for Amateur Radio on the International Space Station. Ham operators set up their equipment and people, for example students, can communicate with astronauts in space.
