The Constitution of Uruguay of 1830 was the first Constitution of the current Eastern Republic of Uruguay, then known as the Eastern State of Uruguay. Although it was enacted on June 28, 1830, the people swore it on July 18 of that same year and for this reason today is celebrated as Día de la Constitución de Uruguay or Uruguayan Constitution Day.
In that country, the expression "Oath of Constitution" refers to this act that occurred in 1830 when the people recognized this first national constitution and a unitary, republican and confessional State was established.
