It is worth mentioning that October 1st is celebrated as Journalist's Day in Peru, commemorating the appearance of Diario de Lima, which was founded by journalist Francisco Antonio Evaristo Cabello y Mesa, who wrote under the pseudonym of Jaime Bausate y Meza, in 1790, becoming the first periodical to address local issues, with some medical notes related to the healing practices of the time. The date was proposed at the 1950 National Congress of the Peruvian Federation of Journalists, a request sent to the national government, which made the celebration official in 1953 through Supreme Decree 2521.
