The film industry, specifically the national film industry, provides formal employment to people specialized in the audiovisual arts.
Film Workers' Day is celebrated to commemorate the founding date of SICA (Argentine Film Industry, Animation, Advertising and Audiovisual Media Union) in 1948. Since then, the union has carried out an intense and important union, cultural and social activity. It was established in 2015.
The cinematographic activity in Argentina summons thousands of workers who polish every detail shot after shot. That is why in 1944, a group of workers from the main studios of the time created the Asociación Gremial de la Industria Cinematográfica Argentina (a.g.i.c.a.).
Four years later, on September 7, 1948, the s.i.c.a. (Sindicato de la Industria Cinematográfica Argentina) was born, which groups all film and video technicians and professionals in our country. This date became, as a tribute to the achievement, the day of the cinematographic worker.
