Every July 10, country celebrates Merchant's Day or Commerce Day, in honor of all those people who work in commercial establishments. Its celebration is due to the fact that on July 10, 1854 the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange was founded, an entity that has had a great influence in the mercantile development of the country.
In all times and in all parts of the world, commerce has been an instrument of civilization and progress. The prosperity and progress of the peoples run parallel to the impulse of their commercial development. Since the dawn of the emancipation of country, Argentine commerce has been, is and will be an engine of vital energy, stimulus of the creative spirit and preferred occupation of enterprising and progressive men who, with sacrifices, have created commercial and industrial companies that today reign in the country and that, at the same time, are sources of work, wealth and collective welfare.
