On May 8 of each year we observe the Scholarship Holder's Day (Día del Becario), which was born to commemorate those students who work for a while in a company to complement their training, as they are usually young people who have just graduated and do not yet have enough experience to achieve a position in line with their studies. In Spain there are an estimated 70,000 interns. They are those who receive some kind of remuneration.
According to the insurance comparator, Acierto.com, the situation of Spanish interns is one of the worst in Europe, as not only is their remuneration lower than in other EU countries, but the law does not oblige companies to pay them a salary or compensation when hiring them.
