According to data from the Superintendencia de Riesgos del Trabajo, approximately two people die every day in occupational accidents, which can be avoided through basic preventive measures. The solution to most of these deaths can be found if the employee works in a safe environment. The legislation foresees a series of measures that must be complied with within a work environment. And it is the specialized professionals who are dedicated to ensure that the rules are correctly laid out and that employees work in safe and healthy places.
On April 21, 1972, Law 19,587 on Hygiene and Safety at Work (regulated by Decree No. 351/79) was enacted in Argentina, which is the cornerstone of the current regulations on the prevention of occupational accidents in the country.
Meanwhile, the International Labor Organization (ILO) established April 28 as the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, with the aim of promoting the prevention of accidents and diseases in the workplace.
