Since 1994 National Parental Involvement Day forms part of the weeklong observation known as American Education Week. National Parental Involvement Day celebrates public education and honors parents who make a difference in ensuring that every student receives a quality education.
Parent involvement helps extend teaching outside the classroom, creates a more positive experience for children and helps children perform better when they are in school. It is essential for parents to support the learning that happens in preschool settings at home as well.
Parent involvement has immense benefits for both parent/carer and child; children can develop a positive attitude towards learning and progress further in their educational journey whilst parents have a chance to further understand what their child is learning, strengthen relationships with teachers and bond with their child.
