Since 2018, the Solidarité-Peuple-Animal association has been committed to animal welfare through a World Day against the abandonment of pets. A solidarity initiative to deal with the 100,000 dogs and cats abandoned every year in France. The movement was kick-started by the French groups ‘Solidarité Refuges' and 'Animaux Online’, in hopes to raise awareness about pet abandonment, particularly high during the summer months.
