Engineer's Day is celebrated annually on December 11 in Brazil. The date honors the professionals in Engineering, an exact field that covers several types, according to their specialties (civil engineering, agricultural engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, just to name a few).
Engineer's Day originated from the Decree of Law No. 23,569, dated December 11, 1933, which regulates and makes official the professions of Engineer, Architect and Surveyor in Brazil.
In addition, the decree created the Confea/Crea system to supervise and guide the exercise of the profession under the Getúlio Vargas government. The Crea - Regional Council of Engineering and Agronomy operates in each state and at the national level is Confea - Federal Council of Engineering and Agronomy.
Therefore, December 11th is the Engineer's Day and Confea's anniversary. There is also the Engineering Day, which is celebrated on April 10th in Brazil.
