Photographer and Cameraman's Day in Panama is held on February 6. This event in the first decade of the month February is annual.
It is worth explaining briefly that a photographer is a person whose artistic activity or occupation consists of taking photographs using a camera or other device capable of storing a two-dimensional replica of reality, and a cameraman (whether for television, film or video) is a specialist in capturing the best images three-dimensionally and in motion, with the ability to effectively handle the instruments in his charge, who knows how to operate the camera, its accessories and derivatives, regardless of the format, in order to achieve the best shots. Both with the professional ability to adapt to changes and technological evolution.
The Day of the Photographer and Cameraman in Panama was instituted and declared by Municipal Agreement No. 45 of August 21, 1990, in recognition of the work of photographers and cameramen, to pay tribute to these professionals of the lens, who in the exercise of their tasks have performed a respectable and admirable work of capturing in images the special, crucial and decisive moments of the events and happenings of the moment; that over time are recorded and printed for history and as a valuable contribution to the country.
