Day of Commemoration and National Mourning in Turkmenistan

Day of Commemoration and National Mourning in Turkmenistan is held on October 6. This event in the first decade of the month October is annual.
The day is dedicated to the memory of the Turkmen killed in the Ashgabat earthquake in 1995 and the Geoktepe battle, held in 1880-1881 - it was a military operation of the Russian army to subdue the Teke tribes living in Turkmenistan.
