08/08/2013 - This Thursday, the Chamber of Deputies approved by 40 votes in favor and seven abstentions, the project that establishes February 9 as the "National Day of the Football Fan".
The motion, introduced on March 12, was supported by the parliamentarians, who emphasized that the initiative seeks to honor the contribution of fans to the practice and professionalization of this sport in the country.
The date chosen is intended to remember the 16 O'Higgins fans who died this year in the town of Tomé, after suffering a car accident after the light-blue team's match against Huachipato.
