The mobility inherent to this type of library services gives it a false volatility that increases the value of its permanence over time, while this continuity is essential to achieve optimal and lasting results; hence, seven uninterrupted decades are a reason to celebrate more than enough.
The beginnings are not always easy, especially in a convulsive historical reality such as that of the early twentieth century in our country. Thus the first Spanish Bibliobus was born in the middle of the Civil War in 1938, the Bibliobús del Frente, a heroic effort that tragically died with the war itself in 1939.
Every year on January 28, Spaniards celebrate Bookmobile Day (Día del Bibliobús) and the Association of Mobile Library Professionals (ACLEBIM), its promoter, reminds us of it.
