On January 25, the National Day of the Graphic Reporter is commemorated throughout the country as a tribute to José Luis Cabezas, journalist and photographer, murdered on January 25, 1997 on the Atlantic coast while he was doing his job.
Law 24.876, passed on September 10, 1997 and promulgated on October 13 of the same year, established January 25 as the National Photo Reporter's.
On Sunday, March 3, 1996, Revista Noticias published on its cover the first image of businessman Alfredo Yabrán. He was walking with his wife along the beaches of Pinamar, dressed in a white and burgundy plaid bathing suit.
Behind the lens was José Luis Cabezas, a 34-year-old photographer who covered the summer season in the Atlantic resort for Editorial Perfil. The following year, in the early morning of January 25, 1997, after leaving a party organized by businessman Oscar Andreani, José Luis Cabezas was intercepted, kidnapped and murdered in General Madariaga.
