The Executive Board of Unesco decides to welcome the recommendation to proclaim 2 December each year as World Futures Day.
The first World Future Day, was organized at UNESCO headquarters on December 2, 2022. The celebration will highlight the efforts of the UN system and its member states to forge a new vision of multilateralism and approaches to the future that promote inclusive and sustainable policymaking. This is an opportunity for international organizations, member states, civil society and non-governmental actors to celebrate why and how they are using the future.
