Mexico has celebrated Architect's Day every October 1 since 2004, this thanks to former president Vicente Fox, who instituted that this day will be celebrated on October 1st.

The declaration took place at the College of Architects of Mexico City, where the commemorative plaque corresponding to the National Day of the Architect is located and the Letter of Peace, which is the basis for establishing this celebration, signed in Morelia, was exhibited.

But this national day is due to the World Day of the Architect that was established on the first Monday of October since 1996, when the Congress of the International Union of Architects (UIA), held in Barcelona, decided to coincide the World Day of the Architect with the World Human Habitat Day.
