Daireaux is the head city of the party of the same name, in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
In 1899 the Ferrocarril del Sud railroad station was established on land belonging to Emilio Daireaux. The town began to develop around the station. In 1902, the Italian Pablo Guglieri settled in the area (then located in the Bolívar district), buying land from Emilio Daireaux. Over the years Guglieri acquired more hectares in the area.
The lots around the railroad station contributed to the establishment of housing and businesses. The development reached by the city led to the demand of the settlers to obtain autonomy from the municipal administration of Bolívar, and by law 3244 of July 5, 1910, the district of Caseros was created (evoking the battle of the same name) and the town around the station, already known as Daireaux, was established as its head town.
In 1970 the party and the head town of Caseros were renamed Daireaux, by law 7613. The following year, a new law extended the terms of the previous one, assigning expressly to Daireaux the rank of city.
In 1981 the first edition of the Festival de la Fortinera Deroense was held.
