This date was chosen to commemorate the Foundation of the Peruvian Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology founded on June 30, 1947.
Such date has been established by Ministerial Resolution of June 19, 1998, in accordance with the provisions of Legislative Decree No. 584 and its Regulations, approved by Supreme Decree No. 002-92-SA. Recognizing the important scientific activity and advances in this branch of medicine, which has allowed the care and health of Peruvian women.
