National Day of the Troubadour and Poet of the Panamanian Décima in Panama is held on June 16. This event in the second decade of the month June is annual.

The décima is the soul of the people, the inspiration of poets and the vocal expression of troubadours accompanied by the Spanish guitar, the mejoranera and the violin.
These great artists, custodians of the customs of countryside, of identity as Panamanians, of the autochthonous, have not let die this beautiful form of improvised expression, which by means of sung verses dispute to be one better than the other in the famous Cantaderas.
Today June 16 is celebrated the National Day of the Troubadour and the Poet of the Panamanian Tenth, date instituted by Decree 73 of November 6, 1989, in recognition of those men and women who through song and the creation of the tenth, as a literary genre, have made great contributions to Panamanian folklore.
