Every year, April 14 is awaited with excitement by those men and women who wear their blue uniforms to fulfill their mission to protect and serve. The date has been celebrated since 1937. For some years the celebration was suspended and was resumed in 2000. Police Day in Panama was officially born on August 24, 2000 by means of General Order of the Day number 161. In this order it was decreed that every April 14 Police Day is celebrated based on Law number 28 of January 28, 1937, which aimed to honor the work of these uniformed men and women.
