Systems Analyst Day was first celebrated in 2000. On September 24, 2000, a respected systems analyst from America decided that the work of his colleagues still deserved the attention of the general public. He organized a huge picnic not far from Chicago in honor of members of this respected profession around the world.

Computer systems analysts primarily match the computer needs and limitations of a business with the available information technology. One of the most important duties of systems analysts is collecting and analyzing the requirements for a new system. They can be responsible for generating documentation such as flowcharts, collecting and analyzing requirements, helping in software selection, and monitoring systems once they're in place.
