One of the most popular Moscato wines is from Piedmonte in Italy and is known as Moscato d’Asti. Moscato is wine made from Muscat Blanc or Muscat of Alexandria grapes. It is thought that Muscat of Alexandria is believed to date back to the ancient Egyptians (c. 3000–1000 BC) and it is rumoured to have been Cleopatra’s favourite.
