The 'Day of the Americas', a symbol of peace and continental union. The Day of the Americas is celebrated on April 14 because, on that same date in 1890, the Union of American Republics was created, which later gave rise to the Pan American Union and later to the current Organization of American States (OAS). For this reason, since 1931, the countries of the Americas commemorate on this date the "Day of the Americas", as a symbol of the sovereignty of the States of the region and voluntary union in a continental community.
