Grandparents' Day is a commemorative day dedicated to grandparents within the family, which complements Mother's Day and Father's Day. This day is celebrated only in some countries, with differences in the name, motivation and date. At the international level there is a celebration promoted by the UN that remembers older people, in general.
In many Latin American countries, July 26 has been chosen for this celebration, as it is the day on which the Catholic liturgy commemorates Saint Joachim and Saint Anne, parents of the Virgin Mary and, therefore, grandparents of Jesus.
