Kabyle, Berber people of Algeria inhabiting a partially mountainous region stretching from the Mediterranean Sea to the southern slopes of the Great Kabylie.
The city of Kabile was founded around 2000 BC, and was one of the most important cities of Ancient Thrace. In fact, it is believed to have been one of the royal residences of the kings from the Odryssian Kingdom, the most powerful state of the Ancient Thracians. In 341 BC, Kabile was conquered by Philip II of Macedon.
Kamel Amzal, known as Madjid, born on October 13, 1962 in the village of Tiferdoud, in the commune of Abi Youcef, daïra of Ain El Hammam in Tizi Ouzou is an activist for the cause of identity and democratic freedoms.
The murder of Kamel Amzal occurred on November 2, 1982 inside the university city of Ben Aknoun in Algiers by Islamists who wanted to prevent him from putting up a poster calling for elections for the renewal of the city committee university.
Kamal Amzal would have been forty-eight in year 2010, where, despite the sacrifices of the other children of Algeria having taken place after him, uncertainties of almost the same nature and of the same magnitude continue to hover over the sky of Algeria.
