World Embroidery Day or International Vyshyvanka Day
World Embroidery Day or International Vyshyvanka Day is held on May 20. Celebrated on the third Thursday of May. Festival of culture of the East Slavic traditional embroidered shirt. Usually, an embroidered shirt was made from a homemade cloth, which was woven on a loom. This event in the second decade of the month May is annual.

The vyshyvanka is a part of Ukrainian traditional clothing that contains elements of ethnic embroidery. Embroidery has rich history in Ukraine, it's roots trace all the way back to the pre-Christian period, an ancient and symbolic tradition in Ukraine.
