World Family Doctor Day
World Family Doctor Day is held on May 19. This event in the second decade of the month May is annual. Help us
World Family Doctor Day (FDD), celebrated on May 19, was first declared by WONCA (the World Organization of Family Doctors) in 2010 and it has become a day to highlight the role and contribution of family doctors in health care systems around the world.
Family doctors have always been the backbone of health care. They can provide comprehensive, compassionate, and people-centred care in achieving the goal of universal health coverage.
The event is a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge the central role of our specialty in the delivery of personal, comprehensive and continuing health care for all of our patients. It’s also a chance to celebrate the progress being made in family medicine and the special contributions of family doctors globally.
