Just like any other device, batteries need to be tested to determine if they are airworthy. That is, to determine if they will perform properly when required under normal conditions and more so when needed in emergency situations.
How Does a Battery Tester Work? Battery testers work by applying load and monitoring the voltage and current of the battery. The actual process is quite simple – when the conductive elements of the tester touch both the positive and negative contacts on the battery, the current is released and can be measured. Typically, it's recommended that the battery be inspected at least twice per year.
Power down the device to avoid additional battery use.
