This day was first celebrated in 1958 throughout North Vietnam. At the request of the Education sector, on September 28, 1982, the Council of Ministers (now the Government) issued Decision No. 167 - Council of Education on Vietnamese Teachers' Day. In it, there are provisions, taking November 20 as Vietnamese Teachers' Day.
This is a festival of the Education industry and a Teacher's Day, a "religious teacher's day" that aims to honor teachers and those in the education industry.
