Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you. Princess Diana
We all struggle. We all stress. But, thankfully, we also all love. In fact, we can’t help but love! It’s part of the human condition. You can’t have ‘humankind’ without ‘kind’, after all. Scientific studies have shown that random acts of kindness are good for you!
The annual Random Acts of Kindness Week global celebration of kindness is done and all we can say is WOW!
From February 14-20, 2016, thousands of individuals and hundreds of brands posted acts of kindness and positive messages on social media. And on February 17, Random Acts of Kindness Day, the hashtag #RAKDay was trending #1 on Twitter!
Social media is the largest documented collection of human thought in the world, and to know that kindness was the #1 trending thought, even for a day, is encouraging. The more people who join in, the bigger the impact we can have in bringing positivity to the forefront of our actions.
So, why kindness? Scientifically? Because it’s good for your health. Economically? Because it’s free. Practically? Because it’s easy. Socially? Because it improves the world.
