International Neighbours' Day
International Neighbours' Day is held on June 1. This event in the first decade of the month June is annual.
Neighbors' Day is a festival that originated in Paris in 2000 and is supported internationally by individuals, housing organizations and associations.
A Pew Research Center survey in 2018 explored several aspects of community life in the United States, including neighborly relations. Older Americans are more likely to know their neighbors than younger onesA majority of Americans (57%) say they know only some of their neighbors; far fewer (26%) say they know most of them. Americans ages 65 and older are more likely than those ages 18 to 29 to say they know most of their neighbors (34% vs. 20%). In contrast, about a quarter (23%) of adults under 30 don’t know any of their neighbors, compared with just 4% among those 65 and older.
