Infantry Day in Argentina
Infantry Day in Argentina is held on September 13. This event in the second decade of the month September is annual.
On a day like today, but in 1806, the first militia infantry battalions were created, which had their baptism of fire in the Second English Invasion.
The Argentine Infantry knew victories and suffered defeats, but always offered its share of courage and sacrifice, loyalty and vocation of service, from Suipacha to the present day.
It is the Arm that conforms the basic combat elements of the land military instrument, trained and equipped to execute combats in direct contact with the enemy. The infantrymen use a combination of maneuver, fire and shock, the latter being the element of their tactical action that identifies the Arm.
The Infantry operates on foot, with wheeled or tracked combat vehicles, or articulated with air and, eventually, amphibious means. This allows it to move and fight in all kinds of terrains and weather or visibility conditions.
