National Day for Non-Sexist Education in El Salvador
National Day for Non-Sexist Education in El Salvador is held on June 21. Día Nacional para una Educación No Sexista. This event in the third decade of the month June is annual.
On June 10, 1999, the Salvadoran Legislative Assembly issued a legislative decree declaring June 21 of each year as "NATIONAL DAY FOR A NON-SEXIST EDUCATION" (Art.1, Decree No. 639), with the purpose, according to the decree, of contributing to “the construction of a formal and non-formal education that promotes and develops attitudes, behaviors and conceptions, which, while respecting the differences between the sexes, eliminates gender inequalities and encourages society as a whole to reflect on it and gives greater impetus to the integration of new values in all the components of the educational process”.
