To remember these events, three churches were erected in Rome: San Lorenzo in Fonte (place of imprisonment), San Lorenzo in Panisperna (place of martyrdom) and San Lorenzo al Verano (place of his burial). The liturgical celebration of St. Lawrence occurs on 10 August and his emblem is the grill.
