Flag Day is commemorated every year in Argentina on June 20. That date is a national holiday and a holiday dedicated to the Argentine flag and to the commemoration of its creator, Manuel Belgrano, who died on that day in 1820. The date was decreed by law 12,361 of June 8, 1938, with the approval of Congress, by the then president of the Argentine Nation, Roberto M. Ortiz.
As of 2011, by national decree, said holiday is immovable.
The flag was created on February 27, 1812, during the deed for the Independence of the United Provinces of the Río de la Plata.
