Chaco Armistice Day has been celebrated since 1935. The Chaco War was fought between Bolivia and Paraguay from June 15, 1932 to June 10, 1935 for control of a large portion of the Gran Chaco region of South America. She took about 100 thousand people. In fact, more died from diseases such as malaria and other infections than from actual fighting. 57,000 of the total victims were Bolivians.
